Esthetician Training has become one of the fastest growing beauty college programs this decade. Esthetics is the non medical care and treatment of the skin, and includes giving facials to waxing hair and many things in between. There are many people who love cosmetology, but dont love cutting hair or shaving heads. The answer to these peoples prayer is Esthetician training.

Esthetics is a very broad, diverse field, and covers not only facials and makeup application, but also aromatherapy and body peels. With stress levels continuously on the rise for people today, it is no wonder that more and more of us are searching for great ways to relax, unwind, and decompress. People love to be pampered, and painting your nails at home just isnt good enough anymore! People need estheticians!

While many beauty schools today offer programs in esthetics, there are also other beauty colleges that focus exclusively on this growing profession. To become licensed in esthetics, a combination of classroom time, in the field salon time, and tests and exams must be endured first. In most cases, Esthetician training can be completed in under a year, ending with being the proud bearer of the coveted esthetician license. Usually, to enroll as a student in a program, you must be at least 16 years old and be willing to devote 600 hours of time to the program, as opposed to a cosmetology curriculum, which requires 1600 hours in some states, such as California.

Tuition for esthetician training programs depends on many factors, such as hours taken, equipment needed, facility location, and depending on the courses themselves. If you already work as a cosmetologist, check with your workplace to see if they would be willing to help defray the cost of your education. Check with your local beauty school to find out more about their tuition requirements.

Career opportunities are plentiful and vary widely in orientation. Some career possibilities include salon and spa esthetician, a makeup artist, beauty editor, cosmetics buyer, or you could end up finding that you would like to teach esthetics to others. Many people who enter this field are extremely happy with their decision to do so, and the most popular reason across the board is that the field is so diverse that if you get tired of doing one aspect of it, you are licensed to do another. If someone who has done aromatherapy for five years is feeling the need for a bit of a career change, they can easily pull out their whirlpool foot soak tubs and get busy giving pedicures. So if you want a career that will keep you passionate about what you do and will always be at the forefront of trends and fashion, call your local beauty college and sign up for esthetician training today.
